California Minor Privacy Protections
Under 13:
- Athlete Intro does NOT create profiles for children under 13
- No accounts are permitted for users under 13 years of age
Ages 13-15 (California Residents):
Per California law (CCPA/CPRA), California residents ages 13-15 must personally opt-in ("affirmative consent") before their personal information can be shared with third parties, including college coaches. Parent/guardian consent alone is not sufficient for data sharing for this age group.
How We Implement This:
- California users ages 13-15 will be prompted to provide their own explicit consent before their profile can be shared with coaches via access codes
- Both the minor and the parent/guardian must consent to profile sharing
- Until affirmative consent is received from the minor, gated profile content will not be accessible via access codes
All Minors Under 18:
Minor users (under 18) have the right to request deletion of any content they have posted to their profile under California's "Eraser Law" (Business & Professions Code ยง 22581). To request deletion, email info@getzoptic.com from the registered email address or have a parent/guardian submit the request.
